Just like recreational dive training, learning to dive deeper and longer with additional gases also requires a structured training approach with a recognized agency.
TDI (Technical Diving International) are a global training agency and were set up for the sole purpose of technical decompression dive training. It was formed in the early nineties by the top industry names and had the aim of providing a structured and standard based approach to the sport. This allowed normal everyday divers to progress at their own pace to whatever level they were happy with without quantum leaps in depth or experience.
As a very minimum, whenever you enroll on any of the following courses you will be taught in accordance with the guidelines and standards of the agency, not to mention the vast experience of your personal instructor.
Your recognized certification card will spell out very clearly what you are qualified for and allow you to conduct your diving all around the world.
You are always advised to have check dives or reviews after any lengthy lay-offs and increase your limits gradually, ideally under instruction.
